Marie Naughton
Marie Naughton was born in Consett and grew up in County Durham and North Yorkshire. She went to school in York, studied languages at Manchester University and has lived and worked in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. She’s had careers as a translator, teacher, lecturer and school counsellor. She is a psychotherapist and facilitates writing workshops for therapists and counsellors. Her poems have been published widely in magazines including Mslexia, The Dark Horse, Southword, The North, and included in anthologies themed around motherhood, love, mermaids and Yorkshire. She’s read at poetry festivals in the UK and Ireland. She lives in the North of England and has three grown-up children. A Life, Elsewhere is her debut collection. |
